Anna Sui shampoo, conditioner and body lotion

I’m so in love with Anna Sui rose scent that I had to buy the whole range. I’m currently slathering on loads and loads of body lotion on my peeling surburnt skin that I think I’ve only got half a bottle left. The shampoo and conditioner will be used on special occasions when I wanna bathe myself in rose fragrance.

Burberry Blue Label Burgundy Nova Plaid wallet

Burberry Blue Label “hotdog” bag

Lovely bustier top from Hong Kong

Of course I don’t look as voluptuous as the model. This is actually a bustier with thongs (intimate wear? SM???) but I’m gonna wear it as a bustier top. It’s so lovely! I lurve the electric blue with black trimmings combi. The ribbons at the back add a girly touch to this sexy top. A little disappointed at the lack of support (meaning still must wear bra) but it’s very chio overall.

I was deciding on which Burberry inspired shirt dress to get for work...

A knee length diagonal checks dress with ribbon

in grey

or

in pink

Somehow the dresses look kinda superimposed and stiff on the models. Moreover knee length for them means below the knees for me. I think what draws me to these dresses are the chio models.

Then, I struck off the above dresses and was deciding on...

A much shorter one

in pink

or

in the original tan

From the 2nd photo of the tan one, I could see that the shirt dress is not very fitting. Moreover, the so called belt area is lying at the hips. I used to have a shirt dress with a belt at the hip and it isn't flattering on me at all.

The four dresses above have more than one in stock so I decided to buy the one which was the only one available on auction.

The one I bought...

Please tell me that this is the best!

Grey is not too OTT, the belt area is not at the hips, the measurements are almost the same as my current shirt dress, the model is chio... Haha... plus the seller is really sweet and friendly. I can't stand how clothes always look so good on these Taiwanese and Japanese models when the original don't look half as good. Hence, I requested for an original photo from the seller. She was so nice as to send me the photo at 3am. I wonder if she was suffering from insomnia just like me.

Pleased with what I saw, I thought that I've made the right choice.

When the dress arrived I was so thrilled that I ripped off the envelope and tried it on immediately.

IT WAS TOO SHORT!!!!

BOO HOO!

Actually it's not like really short, considering that I'm those who love wearing shorts and minis. However, the length is not suitable for work. I tried lifting my arms as if writing on the board and the skirt really rides high up the thigh.

This one has to be cast aside as a casual dress for now.

I went shopping for Nalgene water bottles for my xmas gift exchange recipient colleague. Pink Nalgene water bottle was her first choice.

I got one for myself too.

Now, I need not worry about filling my bottle with hot water.

I’m on the look out for perfume and I’ve shortlisted these:

Dior Addict 2

"It is sparkly and pink, with glittering grapefruit notes fizzing on the skin. Red fruit notes are like jelly squares floating in the water, shiny and moist. Modern aroma chemicals reproduce fruit as a shiny photographic rendition, as opposed to dimly lit Impressionist painting. Whatever the case may be, there is nothing subtle about the acrylic vividness of fruity notes in Addict 2, yet it is not a bad thing in itself. The sparkle and pink rhinestone feel of the composition is softened in the dry down, as the light fruity musk starts to dominate the base notes."

My take:
I love how this perfume could smell citrusy, fresh, floral, sweet, energetic yet powdery and musky all at the same time. I'm amazed! The scent isn't overpowering. Nevertheless it is lasting. The bottle and the colour scream, "Buy me! Buy me! I'm so chic!"

Dior being Dior, the only drawback would be its hefty price tag as compared to the rest. This also doesn’t come in 100ml.

Dior Addict Shine

My take:
Initially, I preferred this to Dior Addict 2 as the scent is fresher on the first test. However on the following week, I went back to the counter to try and distinguish the two scents again and I preferred Dior Addict 2 over this one. I wonder if the SA got the scents and names mixed up.

I love the name of Dior Addict Shine. The word "shine" does a lot of marketing on its own. Haha... but it's silly to choose perfume coz of its name.

Burberry Brit Sheer

"Brit Sheer was developed by perfumer Emilie Coppermann, and is designed to embody the youthful spirit of Burberry Brit and the individual, charismatic woman it was created for. The top notes include yuzu, mandarin, pineapple leaves, lychee, grapes; middle notes of peony, peach blossom, sweet pea, nashi pear, white musk and amyris wood."

My take:
This is simply the best Burberry fragrance ever!!! I really hate the scent of all Burberry fragrances. They are either too spicy or too woody, too mature or too sweet but this... oh... it's so different! A close contender with Dior Addict 2 and at a reasonable price.

Bvlgari Voile de Jasmin

Bvlgari Rose Essentielle

"Bvlgari has two new fragrance releases at Sephora, Rose Essentielle and Voile de Jasmin. Both are floral interpretations of the original Bvlgari Femme fragrance.

Rose Essentielle features notes of rose, blackberry, violet leaves, living mimosa, jasmin sambac, patchouli, and gaiacwood.

Voile de Jasmin has living jasmine sambac, bergamot, orange blossom, rosewood, ylang ylang, living mimosa, and living rose."

My take:
I love all kinds of rose fragrance and was checking out Rose Essentielle initially. Curious, I tried the Jasmin one too. Secret gardens and soft meadows came to mind my I smelled these two fragrances. Delicate and lovely... Subtle and comfortable but easily forgotten. These made me go, "Oh smells so lovely..." at that point of time but didn't create the urge for me to die-die also must buy. It's pleasant but it didn't create a huge impact.

Bvlgari Amethyste

"Bvlgari presents a new floral fragrance inspired by the precious iridescence of the amethyst: The essence of Omnia Amethyste is as precious and delicate as the scent of iris and rose gardens caressed with the morning dew. Elegant and refined, Omnia Amethyste is dedicated to the young woman who expresses herself through an enveloping, yet fresh fragrance. Her graceful personality reflects the combination of pure and authentic notes while the amethyst, symbol of balance, evokes her noble spirit full of grace and harmony. Her strong femininity reveals itself through her discreet sensuality."

My take:
Attracted to the bottle, I decided to take a whiff. I must say that the scent is quite unique. I've never smelt anything like that before. I like the scent because it stood out as having a scent so different from the usual I was looking out for and not for its fragrance per se. You either like the fragrance or you don't like it.

Anna Sui Secret Wish

"The Anna Sui Secret Wish woman loves to explore different worlds, faraway places, other times and cultures. She has the yearning to believe in childhood fairy tales. She seeks what she cannot see, she delights in the thought that nature holds more in its woodland bowers than we will ever know. She believes in the power of magic and is captivated by fairytales, charms and potions."

"Anna Sui's Secret Wish is a very fruity floral fragrance housed in a bottle fit for a princess. Anna Sui Secret Wish combines gentle waves of melon, black currant, pineapple and lemon over an affectionate trail of flowers and wood, for a subtle and feminine scent. Anna Sui Secret Wish includes Lemon, Tagette, Melon, Black Currant, Pineapple and Floral Notes, over a seductive base of White Cedar, Amber and Musk."

My take:
Enchanting! Despite the ultra saccharine notes of fruits and flower, the scent isn't overwhelming and cloyingly sweet. A subtle but distinctive scent that lasts. I'm already falling in love with the whimsical turqouise fairy bottle. It also helps that this perfume is a lot cheaper than the rest which makes me ponder. It's light scent that is suitable for day time use. I'll have to find another one for dinner functions. This gives me an excuse to get more than one perfume.

Anna Sui Secret Wish Magic Romance

For description, please click here:
Secret Wish Magic Romance

My take:
With marketing like this (click the above link), it really entices people to grab a bottle without testing. It helps that it is pink. Those pink bimbos would definitely go for this. As indicated by its name, this perfume is supposed to be more sensual than its original. The scent may be cloyingly sweet for some. I prefer the original.

Lanvin Eclat

"Embrace the floral and musky base of Eclat d'Arpege. A sophisticated, feminine and modern classic fragrance by Lanvin."

My take:
The scent for this is very different from all the other shortlisted ones. Instead of being fresh, this one comes on soft and powdery with a hint of floral. Sophisticated and feminine, yet comfortable. I'm not looking for this kind of scent but this is one fragrance to consider when I get sick of fresh and spritzy scents.

Chanel Chance

"Created with daring young women in mind, the intoxicating new Chanel Chance scent blends the freshness of citron and hyacinth with the warmth and spiciness of amber of patchouli and jasmine for an unexpected combination of notes. A subtle sensual fragrance evolves from one moment to the next, surprising you by its metamorphosis. Every moment is unique."

My take:
I love chanel bags, especially the 2.55 but I've always felt that Chanel's range of fragrance belong to those old, woody, spicy, in other words, smelly category. Those kinda smell on adults which I would squirm away from when I was young. Moreover, they are expensive (one of the few perfumes that falls within the $200 range if you buy over the counter). I've always thought that forking out so much for a designer perfume is so not worth it.

I took the chance with Chance and I was pleasantly surprised by what Chanel has to offer. Chance is dissimilar to all the floral fruity perfume which I’ve shortlisted. A memorable fragrance, Chance is mature and sophisticated but not old, woody and spicy. In fact, there is a rich burst of fresh floral amidst the classic scent. I would say that its scent is classic yet not old school. This doesn’t remind me of old ladies and I would definitely not squirm away from this one.

Chanel Chance eau fraiche

"CHANCE Eau Fraîche, the newest incarnation of the unexpected fragrance, now takes on a sparkling freshness. The unexpected floral bursts with a lightness and zest as notes of citrus, Water Hyacinth and Jasmine Absolute are highlighted and energized with woody notes of Amber of Patchouli and Fresh Vetiver."

My take:
A lighter, fruitier version of the original. This obviously targets the younger crowd. I like this sweet and fruity scent but I like the original a lot more. Off topic: I love the frilly short white dress and boots on the model!

I've changed my impression of Chanel!

Some random stuff

I’ve been wanting to post this…

Monkey standing by the roadside.

This was taken somewhere in mid November along Mandai.

The monkey was standing up on its hind legs on the triangular grass patch for turning. It was looking at every car that drove past. So cute lor… I just hope that it didn’t get knock down and that it is back home safely.

I’m beginning to feel the result of my insomnia. I get by with 4 hours of sleep everyday for the past 2 weeks feeling as energetic as ever.

On the 3rd week, I felt the effect. I am not able to drag myself outta bed when the alarm rings. I often snooze till I’m late for work. I feel so sleepy and lethargic at work that I am so unproductive. I think if I were allowed to work at night, I would most certainly get lots of work done but too bad no flexi.

Like that how to clear leave and go overseas you tell me?

SIGH…

I hate the rainy season. Even more so when I’m not pigging away at home.

Two Wednesdays ago, my papilio was soaked in puddles of rainwater that I had to wash them when I got home.

Usually there would be no problem drying them out since the sun would be out the next day.

However, it just kept raining and raining.

Now my papilio has white spots (Mould? Fungi? EEWW) and after a 2nd washing, the white spots came back coz why? COZ GOT NO SUN!

I sian liao. Dowan wash them liao. Just leave it to grow mould. I know it sounds very gross but what to do? I can’t wash them again coz mould will just start growing for the 3rd time.

I love my disheveled, unkempt waves. This is what happens when I get sprays of rainwater on me.

I was out shopping alone at Bugis Village after meeting up with sam. I was looking out for a big brown bag to replace the one I’ve been using. The skin at the bottom and the handle is peeling just like my sunburnt skin. Not a single shop has a decent big brown bag in the design I like.

After walking around for quite some time, I spotted a cute little puppy in one of the shops.

A little pup named "Money".

It’s so small and adorable. I was asking the shop owner if they were afraid of him running out of the shop or being trampled by people and they assured me that it is very guai1.

Look at how innocent he looks even while being greedy.

This top is from apr.

I wore it with pants to work.

Is it too short to wear as a dress?

Movies movies movies

Yay!!! I’ve finally caught Enchanted last night. It was enchanting.

I’ve wanted to write a review on it but I’ve still got a thousand and one things to blog about.

Oh yes, I’ve also caught the R21 version of Lust, Caution a while back. Good thing I wasn’t impatient enough to rush to watch the NC16 version.

There were intense moments and some laughs throughout. I didn’t quite like the ending. It’s like an all for nothing but it hasn’t got to do with the movie. They were merely adapting the novel.

The sex scenes were explicit man… machiam porn. They looked like they were really doing the do. I wonder how they did it.

I’m truly bowled over by newcomer Tang Wei’s brilliant acting. She has this oriental charm in her that is so alluring. I’m looking forward to watching more of her shows.

I’ve been wanting to catch so many other shows (Stardust, Beowulf, Lions for Lambs, Bee movie) but these were aired during kh’s exam period so I’ve missed all of them.

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

I’ve still got LOTZ to blog about… The 8 Days Celebrity Car Boot Flea market, the meet up with evan, drama serials, some films by Vancouver Film School, unique artworks etc etc…

I will reply to tags and comments soon. Do keep them coming in.

I‘m feeling sleepy at 3am. This is a cause to celebrate for an insomniac!

Nitez!!!
