I'm Jumping on the Instagram Bandwagon

I'm jumping on the Instagram bandwagon as I saw one of my best buddies on it today. I would also give my Turtle friend credit for being one of the many blogger friends who instigated me to be on it. As for now, Twitter isn't twittering for me yet. I've still got a long way to conquering all networking tools as I'm only on less than half of what is depicted in this picture.

Here are my chi cats and I saying hello from Wagamama London as my profile picture!

Well, London was so 1.5 years ago. I do have an Instagram account since a while back. My only followers are my sister, a friend and an unknown. I used Instagram filters for some photos when I first installed the app and I thought it was compulsory to sign up as a member. So I have a grand total of 4 pictures inside before I realised I need not upload my pictures there in order to use the filters.

Click on the button below to get to my page. I would be uploading more photos once I get the hang of it. As for now, I'm still a noob exploring and wondering what makes Instagram so much fun.

Site of the Week -- Do you speak Engrish?

This week, we shall be really mean and laugh at bad Engrish.

Some native English speakers simply wonder what in the world were these people thinking when they print such nonsensical Engrish words, phrases and sentences. In cases of bad English translation in China and Taiwan, it is always interesting for us Chinese speakers to look at the Chinese words and deduce how these bad Engrish words were derived.

Here is a menu taken in China and before we go on, let me just warn all of you that the four-letter word is inside so make sure you are above 18 before proceeding.

Another menu in China:

The Dutch cowboys dig up spell roast the turkey?

Annoys the taste turkey to approve?

The milk fish platoon?

I would so love the mystical gift. Thank you very much. Boy oh boy, I hope I find mystical powers inside.

Since there isn't the Chinese characters printed, I really wonder how some of these Engrish words came about.

Of course, not all bad Engrish comes from China. For examples of signs, menus, T shirts and other merchandise with bad Engrish all over the world, head over to http://www.engrish.com for a good laugh.

Site of the Week -- Failbook

I really hate the whole new Facebook "facelift". Absolutely whining and bitching about it. But hey. I'm still using Facebook every day.

For today's site of the week (SOTW), I would introduce to you not Facebook but Failbook.

This site features some of the most hilarious status updates, replies, photo comments etc on Facebook.

There are so many things that got me laughing at my laptop screen and one such example posted yesterday was by someone called Rick.

"I have all my FB email settings turned off to avoid getting mail from them. This morning I received TWO emails from FB telling me that they'll be sending me less mail."

What made it funnier was that I instantly thought of my dear friend Rick aka RicAdeMus. That sounds just like something he would post. lol

Site of the Week -- Jim's Pancakes

Have you heard of this creative father who enjoys making pancakes for his beloved daughter?

Some of you may wonder: What's so great about making pancakes for my daughter? I could make pancakes too.

Well, Jim does his pancakes differently. He's one cool daddy who makes pancakes in all shapes and designs. 2D, 3D and standing upright, you have them all.

I am in awe with this 3D ferris wheel.

Besides drooling at his masterpieces, you could also drool at his gorgeous little girl.

There are really so many different creations that I can't possibly display them all here so click on the link (http://www.jimspancakes.com/) for more drool-worthy pictures.

Now I feel like eating pancakes.

Site of the week -- Dear Photograph

I'm easily inspired by every little thing which stirs feelings in me so I decided I would share with my friends and readers all the good reads and good sights/sites I come across on the world wide web. Labelling the post "Site of the week" compels me to be more consistent in my blogging too. I will be adding a new label SOTW on my sidebar to feature such posts.

Today I would share with you a site that juxtaposes then and now:

http://dearphotograph.com

This site invokes a bittersweet feeling in me with the accompanying words that go with the pictures.

Enjoy!
