Eat, Walk and Shop with the Hubby

I used to love taking photographs during outings with the hubby, but more so of the food. Recently, I've grown a little lazy to take that many photos as before. Looking at my photo folders in 2011 and 2012, I could see an apparent decrease in the number of folders.

As usual, here's a backdated entry sharing with all of you a mishmash of photos from our outings.

~*Lazy Sunday Breakfast at 3pm*~

Due to our night owl lifestyle and few hours of sleep per day, kh and I tend to sleep in on Sundays whenever possible. We would wake up and crave for breakfast food only to bemoan that breakfast is long over.

Privé Cafe is one of those places in Singapore that serves breakfast till late and hence we decided to check out that cafe one lazy Sunday afternoon.

The cafe is located by Keppel Bay. We marvelled at the many yachts there and imagined that we owned them.

Photobucket

Coffee would always be for him and tea for the madam.

Photobucket

Prawn Bisque and smoked salmon for appetizer

Photobucket

Prive's Ultimate Brekkie for him and Eggs Royale for me

Photobucket

What a delicious and hearty breakfast!

Photobucket

Although we were full, I just had to have my dessert to end the meal.

Photobucket

After breakfast, we strolled along the bay and pretended like we were looking for our yacht.

Photobucket

Outfit of the day:
♥ Fleur Faerie Slouchy Beach Top in Cream
♥ No label inner lace spag top
♥ No label brown cardigan
♥ No label pink capri
♥ Green Petals bird and flower necklace
♥ DMK nude chunky heels/ clogs

Photobucket

~*A Lamborghini for His iPad Please*~

Since kh can't afford a Lamborghini, his next best option was to settle for a Lamborghini iPad cover.

Photobucket

We ended our day with ramen and soothing Japanese tea.

Photobucket

I've set my ramen benchmark as Santouka and so every other ramen seems to disappoint me without a doubt.

Photobucket

~*Button, you must wander*~

Button, you must wander, wander, wander.
Button, you must wander everywhere!

Whenever I see many buttons, I would think of this song but I could never quite understand what this song was about when I was young. You see, I thought it was "wonder" and so I often wondered why the buttons had to wonder.

Photobucket

It is the same pink capri again. I wonder if anyone else hangs their many clothes on a rack and would wear the same few clothes for every outing during a certain time period.

Photobucket

Kh really liked to spoil my shots.
Asked him to smile... he showed me serious face.
Asked him to show serious face... he smiled like a clown.

Photobucket

~*TCC*~

Ever noticed how when an eatery begins to have its chains sprouting everywhere, standard would tend to decline? Not for TCC. TCC has maintained its standard and is one of our favourite chain cafes.

Anyway, I thought TCC stands for "The Coffee Connoisseur". All of a sudden, it became "The Connoisseur Concerto". The hubby also remembered the former. Have we been mistaken all along?

~*Hoshigaoka Japanese Restaurant*~

Our off day happened to fall on the same day that week and so we went out running errands together.

We rewarded our growling bellies at the end of the day at a place with no queue-- Hoshigaoka Japanese Restaurant. The food was not too bad for a restaurant with no queue.

Photobucket

The stripes were totally spontaneous.

Photobucket

~*Wasabi Tei*~

There are many ardent fans of Wasabi Tei at Far East Plaza as evident from the long queue. Kh and I are never those who queue for food. In case you are newly acquainted with us, I've to tell you that we are pigs which are forever dying of famine. Hence, we do not believe in waiting in a long line when it comes to food.

I do not think that the food is that great as of its service and I don't think we would be back again. This 16-seater has many house rules and the author of this blog has done a remarkable job in describing Wasabi Tei's service and house rules.

Photobucket

~*Katong Laksa and Sushi Tei*~

I don't know which is the original "Katong Laksa" but I do know that the contents in our bowl do not in any way bear any striking resemblance to what was depicted in the poster. This is the one at Queensway Shopping Centre. Any of you out there know how authentic this Katong Laksa is?

Photobucket

Photobucket

Fortunately, the taste was gratifying enough for me to satisfy our Katong Laksa craving. We lapped up everything including the spicy gravy.

Photobucket

We have a bad English sign right in Queensway Shopping Centre!

Photobucket

It is actually a case of words with multiple meanings and the subsequent translation boo boo.

Photobucket

Photobucket

Dinner was at Sushi Tei which was another of our favourite chain eateries.

Photobucket

I absolutely love green tea/ macha desserts and drinks.

Photobucket

Oh, how we love our food!

Photobucket

I know that I have come to the end of my post and it is a little too late to say this. I do hope that none of you are viewing this post on an empty stomach like what I am doing right now. Trust me, it is a torture.

Probably because it looks the most delicious and I rarely ever get to eat brunch because restaurants usually have it only on the weekends and I work every weekend =( You and your hubs look so happy and the photo of you on the stairs is so pretty!

  8. Hi Jo ,
    Thanks for your reply on my blog . I don't post much but when I do I post about what I find interesting and fun from other bloggers .
    The food you tried looks so delicious here and nice photos . What kind of tea did you try ? I love tea , one of my favorites is a good jasmine green tea but I can't find a good brand of it .
    I also enjoy eating out when me and husband can . :)

  9. I thoroughly enjoyed this post!

    Mainly because of how cute you both are together. I like how you both wore similar stripey tops spontaneously:)

    Second of all, I like all to food! They all look so good. I've stuffed myself with food and junk so I'm not hungry but I do crave to try out some of the food one day.
    I like green tea deserts too. :3

    I do sometimes leave clothes on the rack so I can wear it again. (Except for food stained clothes during the day. ^^) It's only because I wear different clothes every day so that means I only wear each outfit once. It's tiring to wash it after one wear.

  15. You and the hubby always go out to eat at so many yummy places! My bf and I eat out a lot too, but we always end up going to the same places. I'd like to try more new things once in awhile :)

    That slippery floor sign is hilarious haha. Even the picture on it goes with the translation so well. I love the ring you're wearing at Sushi Tei! I have a similar one, but it's gold. The dessert is really cute - I like how it's presented to look like a clam :D

  20. suki pooki,

    Thank you for your compliments always, dear. I have the same sentiments as you about brunch. I really love breakfast food a lot and I’m really glad that more restaurants here are beginning to serve brunch food till late. You work on both weekends? I don’t know if you have mentioned before on your blog or I haven’t been paying attention but what do you work as?

    ~~~
    Rick,
    The hubby simply loves to annoy me. That’s what his talent is.
    Thank you for asking. I’m still recovering from the relapse of URTI. This URTI (upper respiratory tract infection) sucks. It will always start with the immense pain in the throat with bumps and ulcers dotting the throat, then the cough and finally the cold (fluey symptoms). I was in the cough phase when everything became full blown again last Friday. As of today, I’m currently in the ending cough phase and the fluey phase. I hope to recover by next week. I don’t know about the hubby as he is on detachment but he too had a relapse and I supposed he is a lot better now.
    Anthea Lau,
    Thank you for stopping by and commenting. I love seeing newcomers here. I will check out your blog soon!
    Nic Nic,
    We really eat to live! These were taken over a period of a few days so it would be a few lovely days.
    ~~~

    Lisa,

    I love your food posts too. You always find the best food whether it is fine dining or casual or traditional Chinese food. Lol about where the food goes. I have a high metabolism rate but as I age, my metabolism isn’t working as well, same for the hubby. We are slowly accumulating lots of fats around our tummies. We are also trying to control our intake of food especially rice as our eating habits and portions are really atrocious in the past. Our diet is more of health reasons instead of losing fats actually.

    Miso butterfish! I remember you raving about it in one of your posts and I said I just have to try it. Unfortunately, it seems like no eateries serves that dish here in Singapore. Oh! Laksa is gooooooood. You just have to eat those with humps (cockles). Laksa without hump to me is not laksa at all.

    ~~~
    Shop N' Chomp,
    I’m glad to hear that you have been to and love Singapore. I wonder when was the last time you were here. You should make a trip back soon coz much has changed.
    ~~~

    Xixia,

    Thank you, dear. I guess I would always miss Asian food too. I can’t survive in Western countries without at least an Asian meal once every few days. Green tea/macha desserts are one of the best discoveries ever!

    ~~~
    va,
    I didn’t know what tea they were serving at that Japanese restaurant but it certainly wasn’t green tea. It has a mild smoked taste and very pleasant smooth texture. I really couldn’t tell if it was a variation of green tea. I love to drink tea though I’m not a tea aficionado.
    ~~~

    London's-beauty,

    Hahaha... I’m glad you read this post on a full tummy. Your comment made my day especially about the clothes hanging on the rack! I have at least 15 clothes hanging on the rack now coz it really is a waste to wash them only after a few hours of wear. Yes I do rotate and wear them too though some are not very suitable for frequent wear and so have been left there since forever. Green tea/macha desserts are one of the best discoveries ever!

    chachamisu,

    It’s always lovely to make friends with international bloggers who have been to my country. I feel a sense of solidarity. I will be checking out your blog more often!

    Katherine,

    You design iPad cases for a living? Tell me you don’t already have the coolest job ever!

    ~~~
    HitomiNeko,
    It was actually taken over a few days so I reckon it should be fun weekendS with an “s”. Lol
    ~~~

    Kim,

    I always love how you summarized so many points in one paragraph. It is a joy to read them on my email via my iPhone. I’m so glad for eateries that serve late breakfast. I wonder if it is a recent phenomenon but I’m really glad that more eateries are adopting this approach. The hubz and I often do spontaneous things together but don’t realize it till must later.

    ~~~
    Rinny,
    When I was with my hubby in Australia for a while, I realised that we always wound up eating at the same place. I guess when we reside in a bigger country, we would more or less eat at eateries within the vicinity. Singapore is a small country and hence it’s easier to drive around to look for different places to eat.
    I really love looking out for Bad English signs. Those photographs shared on the net never fail to crack me up. You have that same ring too? Do people often ask you do a peace sign when you have that ring on? People wonder if my finger movements are limited by the dual ring.
    Thank you for your compliments on my outfit shots. Most of my outfit photos are self taken by me through the mirror as the hubby really hates to take outfit shots for me. He was griping away that day saying that he did not sign up for this but I’m glad for how the photos turned out eventually.
    ~~~

    Joshua Christian,

    Ah, you do know about the size of our country and I’m glad that now you know about the many good food found here. =)

    ~~~
    Alex,
    I really love your profile picture! So edgey and fashionable. I’m glad you’ve eaten your fill before looking at this food-filled post.
