My very courageous friend on the right of this picture is gonna shave her head for Hair for Hope tomorrow to raise awareness and raise funds for children cancer, and to donate her locks at the same time. Salute to her! Tonight was an impromptu meet up to date her hair before it is gone.
Here is my friend's shavee page: http://www.hairforhope.org.sg/index.php?/shavee/idetails/600

Family outing to the River Safari andto see Kai Kai and Jia Jia!
~1 May 2013~
We were really lucky to have JiaJia walking up and down like a catwalk model today when she is usually shy and hiding in her den. It turned out that she was outta her den walking up and down so much as she was feeling the urge to poo poo. Once she poo-ed, she headed back to her den and there was a unanimous "ohhhhh..." Also, we were lucky to snap this coz outta thispicture was a mass of people in all shapes and sizes.

Flashback: One of those emo moments I love coz I always believe that there is beauty in melancholy. Taken when I was sick a while back, 27h without food with headache and nausea building up together with tummy pain. My mood was picked up as I was on the way to a sumptuous dinner.

Winnie the Pooh quotes are always so meaningful.
~3 May 2013~
Another simple but brilliant Winnie the Pooh quote. Love it!

After 2 months of wearing glasses due to a cornea infection, I'm really missing my beautiful grey contact lens. When can I wear coloured lenses again?
~4 May 2013~
If I were to choose, I would want a notti little striped kitty that looks just as cheeky as this cat as my next pet.
~4 May 2013~
I have different groups of friends saying that I remind them of Emily the Strange or rather, Emily the Strange reminds them of me. It is the hair style and the dark love for some things morbid. I take that as compliment.

My new pair of glasses from Ray Ban with crizal lenses at a good price. I've already got a geeky turtle frame so here is a red frame for the bitchy office lady look.
~5 May 2013~
The hubby thinks my new red Ray Ban looks just like my current brand less turtle frame one. The red one has smoother lines and definitely more bitchy office lady while the turtle frame one is more oblong and bookish though I must admit that I could never deviate much from the protruding sides to be at the top instead of in the middle for a cat eye look.

Love my nude ballerina suede shoes from Geox. Pity about the toe cleavage and the difficulty in removing stains from lights coloured suede.
~7 May 2013~
Favourite "most recent" picture of hubby and me. Hubby made this his profile pic on Facebook.
(Pardon the irregular size. Photos which I've cropped before uploading on Instagram couldn't be saved as the Instagram version in another file name.)

This totally perked me up during a bad PMS phase. Pretty DIY glitter nails on nude base. This effect doesn't look too bad on my short stubby nails. Yes, Fann Wong is in the background.

10th May 2013 -- a day which many in my organization are waiting for in bated breath. Salary adjustment on top of bonus. Wheet! This is the first time ever I actually look forward to pay day. I feel like this little creature here. What cute animal is this anyway? A slinky prairie dog or a chipmunk?
~11 May 2013~
His and hers homemade spaghetti. Hubby would always prefer "white" sauce while I would prefer "red".

When you can't satisfy your milk tea craving at tea shake huts or bubble tea counters, the next best alternative would be pokka bottled milk tea from 7-11. Rich and creamy. Mmmmm... Totally reminds me of @brutal_turtle 's post the other time.

First time hearing of and eating bamboo clam. Really looks like bamboo. One of the dishes for MIL's Mother's Day dinner at a seafood restaurant.
~11 May 2013~
On the right are the bamboo clams which I shared on instagram earlier on for one of the Mother's Day dishes. However, the focal point of this photo are the GEODUCKS which is a type of phallic-looking clam. It is pronounced as "gooey duck".
~12 May 2013~
After 2.5 months of wearing glasses due to my cornea infection with ulcers, the specialist recently cleared me and given me the go-ahead to wear contact lens. One thing to note said he. "Please buy dailies instead of monthlies." I listened and spent about $300 worth of dailies just now. Of course i can't deviate from my grey so I bought them in dailies too. There was already an offer and 3 free pairs thrown in.

Throw back Thursday. Jan 2013. It has been a few years since the very beautiful @cindee_rella and I became acquainted via our blogs-- a Canadian and a Singaporean brought together with our deep connection in writing and similar passion for life. In this photo, many people commented that we look like sisters especially our noses! Lol. One friend even commented that we have the same eyes, same nose and same smile too.

Reflection of bestie and me through my miu miu on a ferry to Phi Phi Island.
~22 May 2013~
Soaking up the sun and sea at Phi Phi Island. I admit. The wanderlust is stirring in me. Seeing friends on FB posting their Phuket photos made me recall my Phuket holidays. I have nothing but photos as a stash of beautiful memories to remind me of my impromptu Phuket holidays to celebrate my bestie's birthday.
(Pardon the irregular size. Photos which I've cropped before uploading on Instagram couldn't be saved as the Instagram version in another file name.)
~22 May 2013~
I have a personal agenda for each holiday-- to have a take-home experience of FIRST. First elephant ride with bestie at Phuket.

Throw back Thursday. Gonna have a double J birthday dinner later with my precious godson and gal pals. Taken 2 years ago when he had spikey hair. I love this cool punk kid look coz he usually sports those Precious Moments gentle boy look.
~23 May 2013~
My birthday celebration begins today with a whole red snapper at Spruce! When I ordered this dish, I expected a fillet and not a whole fish! Godson ordered the same dish and needless to say, we couldn't finish. Happy birthday to us!
~24 May 2013~
A very unique birthday gift from a gal pal. I guessed it was a book as I unwrapped the gift. When I saw what it was, I was momentarily speechless. "I know what is gonna come out from my mouth would be unholy," I told my gal pal, "but this is a DAMN beautiful gothic bible la!"
~24 May 2013~
Continuing from the previous photo, I can't stop laughing at the words on the packaging. My gal pal really thinks for me. 1. Bimbotic 2. Trendy 3. Eco-conscious 4. Lazy ... Indeed, this is a really arty and fashionable Ed Hardy style bible.

The Fullerton bear welcomes us for our weekend staycation.
~26 May 2013~
The beautiful bathroom in our staycation Fullerton Hotel Heritage Room is so huge that I spent 1h in there (not inclusive of soaking in the bathtub and showering). Well I was also watsapping dear friend @eccentrice while slathering moisturizer and blowing hair. Love their bath products here. Bliss!
~26 May 2013~
First gelish manicure and I love it! Love the smooth texture and thickness. Slight 2 tone with glitter and lace.

Two similar fortune slips in hubby's fortune cookie. What to make of this fortune?
If you like my pictures, do follow and drop me a message so that I could check out your page too! I would very much love to connect with my blogger friends and genuine Instagram users than to have ghost followers adding to the physical count.
Heyy ♥ thanks for stopping by! And yes I love cats, in fact my blog (unzycat) is named after my cat whose name is Unzy.

ReplyDeletei love that winnie the pooh post!! What's your instagram? I'd like to follow since you have so many interesting pix!
ReplyDeleteI'm thinking of a staycation as well only because I'm hoping to save more money for a bigger trip.
RYC: haha maybe I'll go watch the great gatsby with a girlfriend then.. :P I don't think my bf would appreciate it much.
What a detailed and packed post I don't know where to start and will probably forget to write some stuff I meant to write, anywho let's start! First thing that comes to mind is, omg that is a bamboo clam?! I had that a few years ago in hk but had noooo idea what it was except it tasted like clam lol but it was good, now I know what it's called too! Omg It's pronounced gooey-duck?! I always said GEO-duck T_T
ReplyDeleteYour new flats are super adorable, I wanna look for them now! And yes I can see a bitchy office lady with those red frames hahahaha
Your friend is super brave and generous to donate her hair for cancer research! I sure hope they find a cure soon! ><
Oh panda's are so cute! I remember seeing then a few times and each time they are adorable! You also look super gorgeous in your "sick" photo hahaha *sigh* I wish we had 7-11 like in hk/asia, there is hardly any 7-11 here and surely not within decent walking distance! Even if they did I'm sure they wouldn't have milk tea here haha
I have wanderlust all the time even though I just came back from my trip! Your photos look gorgeous! What I wouldn't give for sandy beaches and tropical waters! Omg I never knew bibles could be so bad...butt LOL
Did you get to keep that cute bear? If not, they should be punished by putting such an adorable welcome bear there that you cannot keep or if you take it they say "on that'd be 120$ for the bear"! I've never had a staycation before, was it fun? Was it weird because you are still at "home?"
I love the nails, thanks for sharing the wonderful pictures.
ReplyDeleteAnd wow at your friend for shaving her head, what a brave thing to do!

love this post!! the bamboo clams.. we call them razor clams here in the US.. and in europe too because they look like a old school razor :) i love them!!
ReplyDeletethat pic of you and your hubby is sooo cute! boobies too HAHA! :p that's probably why your hubby likes it so much hahahahaa!
salted egg fries sounds sooooooooo good. drooling!! looks like you had a lovely and wonderful birthday love and your eyes got cleared WOOHOO! :)
Keki,
ReplyDeleteWarm hugz to cat lovers. Thanx for following. I’m so glad we are connected on Instagram coz as you could see, I’m neglecting blogosphere with my bz-ness at work and exhaustion when at home. Instagram is on the go and that gets updated more frequently.
~~~
Rick,
Thanx so much. May was hectic. June is supposed to be a lull period at work but not so much for my department. We had the bamboo clams, not the other UNUSUAL one. The bamboo clams tasted great though I love the toppings and garnishing more than the actual clam as it was difficult to eat it. It’s a whole long strip covering the base of the shell.
~~~
Sam,
Thank you for the compliments and for stopping by. =)
~~~
Kim,
I always love your comments that come in a summary and touching almost everything in a post. Really lovely to read!
~~~
TDDH,
The phallic looking thing is really huge too. Kinda intriguing staring at it in the water. Lol… Hope you had a great weekend!
~~~
Mei,
Thank you for the compliments about my glasses. Hehe… My social media photos always look like I’m having lots of fun as times when I’m not having fun, I don’t take pictures. Nevertheless, I would always smile when I look upon these happy pictures.
~~~
mizzsandychau,
I hope you get to see your pandas this summer. Where would yours be? Ours were new additions to the zoo a few months back. And thanx for following me!
~~~
Le Petit Plastique,
Thanx for stopping by.
~~~
Audrey,
Thank you. =)
~~~
Grace,
Have you watched The Great Gatsby already? It’s good to save more money for a bigger trip. You go gal! And my instsgram account is same as my blog name: iamjolene. Hehehe… Hope to see you on instagram! Lemme know yours too.
~~~
Nadia Nathania,
Thanx for stopping by.
~~~
suki pooki,
Wahahaha… I always love to read your comments. Where should you start? Think I would also wonder about that question at your picturesful posts too.
Yes, gooeyduck is the actual pronunciation. Whenever I pronounced it that way, nobody knows what I’m talking about and I’ve to say “You know, GEO-duck? Yeah… it’s not pronounced as ‘geo’ but ‘gooey’.” Like people really cared. Lol
I like the way you talked about that cute Fullerton Bear. It was available for sale and proceeds go to charity so probably we shan't punish the hotel for putting such a cute bear there. I’m not very sure if it was 100% proceeds though. For me, staycation is usually for rest and relax and of course, the right company matters so yeah, a staycation would always be enjoyable. It isn't weird though to feel like I’m still at home. I guess Singapore is too small.
~~~
Corinne,
Thanx for stopping by my blog and for the lovely comment.
~~~
Lisa,
Razor clams? They certainly look like bamboos here in Singapore. Maybe those in US and Europe are flatter and hence look like razors.
Ooh… hahaha I really laughed out loud at your comment on the pic with with the hubz and immediately told him about it. That’s so funny that you were the only one who is not my actual real life friend (blog friends don’t count here) who commented about boobies. Lol. That’s so candid. I love the way you said it.
