This is a scheduled post and at this time later, I would most probably be in the cinema watching the film version of one of the greatest English book to be written in history. You've guessed it-- The Great Gatsby. I do hope I would be enthralled by the film.
It feels just like any ordinary day. In the morning later, I would be having a medical appointment and going through some tests. When the nurse fixed the date a week ago, I said "But it's my birthday." She knew and sounded apologetic for that was the only available slot left. I hope I would still enjoy my day later. In case any of you worry for me, please do not be worried. Nothing can get me down. =D
HAPPY BIRTHDAY JO!!! I hope you're having an awesome day, despite the tests. A couple years ago I got my wisdom teeth removed, on my birthday, and eventhough there are things that are more fun, a doctors visit can't possibly make a birthday less awesomesausome!
ReplyDeleteI've heard mixed reactions on the Great Gatsby movie: apparently, for people who've read and loved the book, the storyline's a let-down, but for people who just watched the movie for the movie, it's really really good. Do let us know what you think :)

ReplyDeleteThank you for the kind and lovely comment on my last, emotional post. The reason for our breakup was actually from last winter. We ended things around the end of last November. It was sudden and out of the blue, but it kind of hit us that there was no point to pursuing our deepening relationship. He's Catholic, and I'm Protestant, and while we both respect each other's belief, we were growing too serious for it to work out. Our faith is just too important to both of us. I still question his decision to suddenly end it (I was willing to take more time and try to learn from each other), but it is what it is.
Whew, don't know if you wanted that full explanation, but there you have it! Aha

I love the artistic direction of The Great Gatsby and the content is almost true to the book. I just hadn’t imagined Tom to look like that and also Gatsby himself to look as charming as Leo. Ever since Leo got older and fatter, I’ve never every thought he was charming. However, he looked really dashing in this movie. I like the actress who played Daisy too. My hubby isn’t a literature and arts buff. He was initially drawn to the show but closer to the end, he said it was a little boring.
