After-work retail therapy, Blogs and Guys

I’m happy because I felt energetic enough to go shopping after work today and got myself a pair of vintage-looking, brown puma shoes! Puma shoes leh! Lv and hs thought they were very nice too. And the best thing is they were on discount and so I got them $40 cheaper than usual.

 


Looks pretty cracked and in my opinion, vintage.  


I also bought 3 tops from FOX for a steal at an average of $9 per top. Original price was $23 each but they were having some major 50% off and a further 20% off for the 3rd item. Woohoo!!! Now I have more tops! Yay!!! Just that I have to “sacrifice” one of them for my 2nd sis. I shall act as this angelic mei mei, present her this nice top and slowly bribe her into not wearing my clothes anymore. She practically wears all my clothes every single day.

I decided to visit my friends’ blogs more often… to update myself on their lives. So here I am on a Saturday night reading blogs. Was overjoyed when I saw the revival of one of my good pal’s blog. I read her blog quite frequently and was just bemoaning the demise of her blog not too long ago. But now, it’s up and running again. Yay! And then I read about another blog suicide from another friend’s site. SIGH… So it’s a +1 –1 affair. Although he seldom updates, he is one hell of a funny guy who is only funny when on the internet. Said a dog to another dog, “on the internet, nobody knows you are a dog.

Oops... not trying to say that the above-mentioned friend is the parallel of a dog. Just that he says things on the internet that he wouldn't say real life and he's funny.

My 2nd sis just walked in and demanded for me to switch the modem off and on so she could log onto internet on her computer. And there she goes strutting away in MY top.

On friends’ blogs…

I try as much as possible to read them, be in touch with them (and at least skim through all the entries with my newly found speed reading talent) but there are just some blogs which I cannot bring myself to read after a tired day.

1) Ang Mo (English) too powerful (I’m a bimbo la… like to read simple or frivolous stuff. When I’m in the mood for intellectual stuff, I would definitely be back for them. =))
2) Small fonts (Excuse my small pak4 jiao4 eyes please)
3) Elaborate layouts and backgrounds. (Forgive my already saturated and tired brain)

It’s either you have changed to somebody that nobody knows at all or you have been a great actor all along. You could win an award for the role that you play.

If someone does all these to me, I would be at a loss of what to do. But if someone does all these to my friend, don’t ever let me see you again for I don’t know what I would do.

I spent my whole Monday catching up on 10 episodes of LOST…

...Only to end up watching 9 episodes coz my dad accidentally erased the finale with some stupid Korean show which he taped for my mum.

ANTI CLIMAX!!! But my 2nd sis had already scolded my dad enough on that very day so I shall spare my poor dad.

At the beginning, I hated that Korean guy’s (Daniel Dae Kim) character, Jin, in that show. Not to mention, he has a very kiam4 pa4 face. But as the show progresses… I absolutely LOVE him… as Jin of course. And I love his small eyes. I never had a thing for guys with small eyes (kh don’t stare at me with your small eyes!) but I think I do now.

 


 


 


 


 


I also adore his wife, Sun (Yun Jin Kim). She doesn’t have the look of those typical Korean actresses (who all look the same to me as they probably visit the same cosmetic surgeon). She isn’t exactly a beauty but I think she is cute, natural and beautiful in her own way.

 

 


 


 


And the couple is just cute.

On the first few days they were stranded… when Jin was still very irritating and kiam4 pa4 


A bloody MCP who forces Sun to cover up when he sees her clad in bikini. Any guy who forces his wife to cover up her bikini ought to be shot! Ok fine... I know he's a chao conservative Korean la.

This part was really touching. Sun compiled notes for him so that he could converse in simple English with the rest of them... aww... They literally kissed and made up but Jin had to go… SoBz…  


I’m so smitten by this on-screen couple that my eyes were glued to the TV all day and completely ignored all the work I brought home to complete... which means a busy week ahead.

The Hottest Trend!!!

The hottest trend at the moment is not the boho-chic style…




Neither is it the large bauble beaded chokers which I absolutely adore…

Just BEAD it! Bohohemian rhapsody, super-sized shades, 24-carat ring and prissy dogs step aside! The latest trend is to get married, have a bump on your tummy, and have kids in tow wherever you go.


It’s like the in thing to be married. Recently one more person I know got married… My cousin sister who is 3 years older than me. They looked really xing4 fu2.
 


They had ministers and MPs at their wedding! And there I was clad in jeans.



Talking about ministers and MPs, even the crown princesses in Europe are about to deliver a little baby boom.

It’s cool to have a bump on your tummy as demonstrated by Britney.


“My latest fashion accessory? Why of course it’s not these f***ing $4499 boots. It’s this bump which I’m carrying around with pride,” quips Britney as she smiles bimbotically.

The latest fashion style isn’t slinging that whatever LV Monogram Cerises bag.




Or the Allison Burns handbag in gold.



In fact, just leave your hands free from bags. The latest must-haves in your hands and on your arms are kids, not some chichi bags. These celebrities really know how to keep up with the latest trend.

Two is better



Not only do celebrities set and follow the trend… Many Singaporeans too. I found out not too long ago that some my students’ parents are only like few years older than me and some with more than 1 kid. One of them is younger than me by a year with a 3-year old son who is smart and adorable. Oh and I haven’t mentioned that one of my cousins (the sister of the bride above) is a hot mama of three at the age of 28!

This is one trend which the Singapore Garmen (otherwise known as zeng1 hu4 by those ah peks sipping kopi downstairs) would encourage all Singaporeans to follow. With the escalating number of people marrying at such a young age, I’m sure our birth rates would soar. This would be the best birthday gift for the nation. Oh by the way, HAPPY 40TH BIRTHDAY SINGAPORE!

While I find it irresistible to be a hot, young and fashionable mama. I don’t think I’ll be able to keep up with this trend. Not at this present moment. Give me my beaded necklaces for now.
