Hi everyone!
The lovely Sharlynn of The Blackmentos Beauty Box tagged me to do a Would You Rather Beauty Tag last Sunday. It is one of those stranded island kind of questions, only that this is all beauty related.
I'm well-known for not completing tags or taking a few months to do them. By the time I got down to doing them, all the hype would had died down. I usually take a long time to do them as I find tag questions difficult to answer since I can get really indecisive at times. This Would You Rather Beauty Tag seems fun and easy to do so here goes!
1. Would you rather lose all of your mascaras, eyeliners, lipsticks, and lip glosses or lose all of your palettes and eye shadows?
I would rather lose all my palettes and eye shadows.
I only use eye shadows during special occasions. I've probably got about 7 palettes and eye shadows combined. Except for 2 of them, all the rest are gifts.
Mascaras and eyeliners are just about the only daily make up I NEED in my life. Whenever I do not apply mascara or do not line my eyes, there would be at least 1 person asking me if I were sick. Ah, the wonders of just mascara and eyeliners. I'm not a lip person but I do have my subtle colour-changing lip balm with me all the time. So yeah, definitely an easy choice for me to make.

2. Would you rather chop all of your hair off or never be able to cut it again?
The question didn't state that I could never grow my hair long again after chopping it off right?
I would chop off all my hair coz hair could always grow back again. Besides, I do fiddle with the thoughts of shaving my head for Hair for Hope when my good friend and my 2 sisters did it.
I would also choose chopping my hair off any time coz do you ladies know how it feels to NEVER be able to cut your hair EVER AGAIN? Your hair would look like these people in the collage below. I'm not sure about you but I know that I would scare the hell out of myself when I look into the mirror looking like these people. I would also scare the hell out of anyone at home should I walk around the house looking like that during the witching hour.
UGLY!
Long straight hair. Long straggly hair. Long tangled hair. Long dreadlocks. Long curly hair. If you could never cut your hair ever again. They would become helluva UGLY. Heck, I feel goosebumps typing this portion as I look at the ghostly long hair figures from the top of my eyes.
UGLY!
I know MANY bloggers who did this beauty tag answered that they would rather never be able to cut their hair again. Most of them are beauty bloggers with really lovely long hair.
Black, brunette, blonde, ash. Hair with great shape. Sleek shiny with highlights. Soft choppy layers. Light wisp of curls. These are examples of long hair which I absolutely heart. I didn't even include those self-tonged curls coz I could write a whole post about them.
Wheet!
Sometimes beautiful long hair comes as a whole package. Say, if you are dressed in super hot shorts with long tanned legs, it sort of accentuates the beauty of your long hair. The right hair colouring like cool ombre tones also bring out the beauty of an otherwise dull long hair. And if you noticed, I used the same black hair picture again coz I personally lurve the soft look for black hair and not those overly straight and shiny kind of Asian hair for shampoo advertisement.
Wheet!
But ladies, if you were to NEVER be able to cut your hair again, they would slowly become like this. Perhaps some of you could still find leg length hair beautiful, but I seriously want to take a pair of scissors and snip these hair off. Do they actually sit on their hair? What if the wind blows their hair and brush them across street dustbins etc?
(I'm aware that I kept using black, brown and blonde hair. No offence to the auburn. I guess people with auburn hair has enough sense not to keep their hair that long.)
Um... En route to UGLY.
So this is what would happen to your hair if you were to never be able to cut them again. Cue to look at first two collages again if the above fails to dissuade you.
3.Would you rather have coral cheek or pink cheek?
Pink cheek.
Most coral kinda look too orangey on me. Besides, there are many different shades of pink but only those few shades of coral.
4. If you had $1000 to spend, would you rather buy clothes or make up?
Clothes definitely.
Remember that I could survive with just mascara and eye liner? Why would I need $1000 worth of mascara and eye liner? Give me $1000 for a wardrobe revamp any time.
5. Would you rather apply lipstick as eyeliner, or eyeliner as lipstick?
Now I thought that this question is weird coz eyeliners to me are mainly in black and also in shades that eye shadow carries. Those colours as lipstick??? Totally weird.
And lipstick as eyeliner? Seriously? Oily lipstick on your lids makes super oily lids. Come on. I don't understand the logic of this question at all.
If I definitely have to pick one, I would go with applying black eyeliner as lipstick for Halloween.
6. Would you rather only shop at MAC or Sephora?
Definitely Sephora!
I love variety; I could buy lots at Sephora. I don't even own a single MAC item. And that's why I'm not a beauty blogger.
7. Would you rather only use one eye-shadow colour or one lip colour for the rest of your life?
One lip colour.
I usually only wear lip balm and I realised that all the lipsticks I have are in almost the same shade. However I have a few colours of eye shadow and they all create different looks.
8. Would you rather wear winter clothes in summer or summer clothes in winter?
It is difficult for me to choose. Singapore is a tropical country where we have sunny and rainy seasons and it is usually hot and humid at any time of the year. Yet, I would always need an outerwear in the freezing cold office. I would go with wearing winter clothes in summer in an air-conditioned place. How's that?
9. Would you rather have dark nails or bright nails all year round?
Bright nails.
I love painting my nails in nudes and pastels so I would think those are considered bright? I love how classy dark nails are but they look like crap when they chip.
10. Would you rather give up your favourite lip colour or favourite eye product?
Give up favourite lip colour.
If you haven't already figured out after the 10th question, I'm an EYE person. I don't have big eyes so I'm really into eye products to enhance my eyes.
11. Would you rather only be able to wear your hair in a ponytail or a messy bun?
Messy bun.
I love wearing my hair in a messy bun at home. You know those hair hacks that says tie up your hair in a ponytail during bad hair days? No such thing for me. A pony tail has to look good too. A bad hair day hair equals to a bad hair day pony tail. You can't see a bad hair day in a messy bun. So there.
12. Would you rather never be able to paint your nails again or never use lip gloss?
Rather never use lip gloss.
I could still use lip balm, lip stains and other lip products other than lip gloss. I hate the stickiness of lip gloss anyway. I simply NEED to paint my weak nails with a coat of nail product even if it is just a transparent coat. I can't stand them soft and weak and unpainted.
13. Would you rather shave your eyebrows and have none at all or sharpie them in everyday?
Sharpie? Seriously? When you talk about sharpie them in, do you actually mean that marker? Hell no, that's as bad as having no eyebrows. Maybe I would choose to sharpie them in everyday and hone my skills over time and have skills of drawing eyebrows that do not look like sharpied brows.
14. Would you rather live without make up or nail polish?
Without nail polish.
As much as I love to paint my nails, I need my eye make up more. Having my usual mascara and eyeliner on would enlarge my eyes by two times. If you want to know how my eyes look without make up, just look out for photos when my eyes look like slits.

you're and EYE person! well, you have beautiful eyes Jo, so I can definitely understand why. i'm like you and don't particularly do tags. i'm tagged all the time and saw this one going around for awhile. i learned a lot about your likes and dislikes! you did an excellent job answering the questions. tags definitely give insight, i just hate doing them. LOL
ReplyDeletehttp://www.averysweetblog.com/
Thank you, Kim. My eyes are only beautiful when made up. Without make-up, they would be those stereotypical Asian Chinese eyes. =) I sort of expected you not to do tags coz I can imagine how many times you have been tagged. And no worries about not doing coz I know we have the same feelings about tags-- Love reading them to know more about one but don't really like doing them for ourselves.
DeleteAhh, Jo I loved your answers! Hah, some of the logic in these questions are ridiculous, I agree with you! I'd choose CLOTHES over makeup with the $1,000 bucks for sure! LOL. I'd be makeup-less if I could have the wardrobe I always wanted. :3
ReplyDeleteThank you for tagging me! I'll be sure to complete the tag sometime this weekend hopefully!
No hurry, take your time though I know I would be waiting to read your answers, Anna!
DeleteMy response to the tag will be up shortly! :D
Deletexoxo... Will check out now!
DeleteYAY! Awesome Jo! I'm glad you did it! I decided to put all the questions together so it's easier to copy and fill in your answers! No everyone does that at the end of a tag and I realized it helps a bit! I loved seeing your answers and that photo of the panda was ADORABLE! I feel the same. I could go without eyeshadows but I must have some mascara and eyeliner!!! And the long hair photos! YES. I think overly long hair looks terrible on most people. It makes you look old, could be unhygienic and just looks EK. I love the photos of the healthy pretty long heads of hair! I think they look gorgeous and I'm now growing out my long hair to be LONG hair! But I need a trim soon to keep the ends nice:p
ReplyDeleteHey Sharlynn. Yes, that's one major thing I realised about you putting the questions all together! Really a good idea to get people to do the tags. Often, I found it very difficult to find the questions to copy and paste and that sort of puts me off doing tags too. So thanx to your ingenious idea! Ah yes, you see even for one growing her hair out long, still gotta trim to keep it in good shape. Hence, I can't imagine myself never to be able to cut again.
DeleteYes! It totally has put me off or at least made me sigh because it's not a hard thing to do! And the user which I tested the Instant miracle product on was my mother! She sort of was reluctant to let me test on her but that's only because she didn't want her face shown! But I only needed cropped photos! I'm sure that the product would work as amazingly as it does on people with more wrinkles but I can only speak for what I saw with my mom. It definitely works and is good that you can just buy one piece from the local site I linked to try! Oh and I'm going for my hair cut today! Soo excited, I haven't had one in a while!
DeleteThat is so much fun! Some of those hair shots were mega creepy and some were pretty hot :) So glad you voted for bright nails, I love bright, cool colors one might not expect. Blue nails for some reason I find so attractive and wow. You are so funny and you put so much work into this post, I am sure the one who nominated you is very happy, I sure would be! I get paralyzed when I get things on the blog that are called awards but are actually curses because you must send them to others. I am too shy for such things. Honestly I am surprised I blog at all :) Totally adored your "lady legs" comments, dear. That was very sweet of you. I have been branching out a bit in that area as well I had such fun with it :) Lovely shots of you too by the way.
ReplyDeleteAs for the same as blue tights? *gives a knowing look*
DeleteThank you for all your kind words. I took quite a short time to do this post except for finding those hair photos and putting them into collages. Oh, no surrpise why you blog. Your posts are so unique and varied. It's refreshing and best of all would be the meaningful engagement.
There are also polka dot tights too and maybe even a pair of leggings or two. When I get curious, I get curious ;) Thanks for the sweet encouraging words!
DeleteHahahahha Jo, I had so much fun with your answer about the hair! Lol, it would be crazy to not cut my hair and to let it grow so much. Even if I had long legs and tanned skin, shorts and pumps - I wouldn't want my hair to be that long. It's absolutely ugly! Your questions are cute. I am more an eye person too! I don't use lipglosses either, they are too sticky for me. I think your answers are very similar to my future ones - but challenge accepted! I'd try to make this post asap! Thank you for tagging me! xo
ReplyDeleteOooh!!! So excited to know about our similarities and the line "challenge accepted" is just too cute, Sany. No hurry, take your time though I know I would be waiting to read your answers!
DeleteYour answers made me laugh out loud! I am a beauty blogger and even I will choose to have $1000 of clothes instead of makeup. And omg about the hair, those extremely long hair pictures made me want to shave mine bald right now, some are just disgusting.
ReplyDeleteSo happy to see you're an 'eye' person too! I'm the same, I can survive with only eye liner and mascara, haiiii....small eyes, what to do? LOL!
Shireen | Reflection of Sanity
Haiz... yeah we totally get the small eyes feeling the same way! My eyes are only bigger when made up. Without make-up, they would be those stereotypical Asian Chinese eyes. =) And yes another similarity, didn't we both cut our hair at almost the same time?
DeleteJo, thanks a bunch for tagging me! Reading your answers made me laugh out load. First of all, I see we have many things in common, cant stay without my mascara and eyeliner either, so I can easily leave my nail polish. You have such beautiful and sweet eyes, love that selfie! Lol for the panda image, actually is so real!:P Love messy buns too and I cant use again lip gloss, its too sticky and hate it when is windy!:P Sephora is my dream store but Im coveting Ruby Woo from Mac! And regarding the hair, you know my thoughts, love long hair so I wont be able to cut it again, actually Im thinking to change from month but still not brave, mine doesnt grow!:S Hugs! xo
ReplyDeleteLove reading about our similarities here, Lilli. You're almost doing the tag here already. Ruby Wong from MAC? I've to go google that now! My eyes are only bigger when made up. Without make-up, they would be those stereotypical Asian Chinese eyes. =)
DeleteI read your answers on the train and they made me laugh soo much because I am the same in many! :DD I also love how you interpreted the questions (as in the one with the air conditioning :DD then I would also go for winter clothes!). The pictures of "en route to ugly" are really not that nice :/ I've been trying to let me hair grow longer but somehow it doesn't get past the..bra clip at the back xD (if you know what I mean). Maybe that's a good thing though. I don't want to end up as Sailor Moon :D
ReplyDeleteGlad to know about our similar likes and dislikes, Keki. So many of the questions are so illogical that I've to bend the rules a little and answer my own way. I know what you mean by bra clip length! Over here, we just call it bra length. Sailor Moon's long hair looks ok simply coz she's an anime character. But a real-life sailor moon? Not me too.
DeleteJo, I am a huge fan of lipstick and eye liner... my lips are super pale and my eyes need a liner to make them stand out... and although I have loved and had long hair a couple of times in my life, it never ever went past my waist... if even to my waist... the minute it stopped looking healthy, I had it cut off... bye, bye... seriously... I don't want unhealthy hair on my head and I don't want it to my feet or past it... that is not attractive xox
ReplyDeleteI'm totally with you about the views on long hair, Launna. Waist length is the longest I could accept and if it looks unhealthy, it's better to cut them off. You are naturally fashionable coz pale lips are a kind of fashion. Those Japanese and Koreans know those pale nude lips fashion best.
DeleteSuch a great post!you really made this tag a lot of fun with your awesome answers...and I enjoyed reading it. I'm not much a make up person myself, I only use one palette but lately I have been experimenting a bit as make up skills always come in handy.
ReplyDeleteBtw I actually know one person that has hair that is almost to her knees...and yes it is a bit strange...better to shave than to mope up floor with it.
Haha... So many of the questions are so illogical that I've to bend the rules a little and answer my own way or I wouldn't be able to choose at all. You don't need much make up at all with your strong features. Just a little to bring out their beauty. You know a real life person with hair as long as her knees? Gosh!
DeleteThis is rather fun to read. :) But with the hair, I'd rather chop them off (and wear wig before they grow back) than to never cut them. No offense to real life Rapunzels but I find them untidy and hard to maintain.
ReplyDeleteNo offence to Rapunzels too but I agree with you! Real-life hair like Rapunzels is creepy to the max.
DeleteOmg Jo I had so much fun reading this post. Thank you so much for tagging me. I think I understand what it means now. I feel so honoured. No one has ever tagged me before. Those are some tough question haha but I'm very determined to do the beauty tag. Well I'm a bit like you and it will probably take me months to do it but as I always say better late than never :D
ReplyDeleteRYC: Omg I feel sorry for the Hello Kitty wedding. The poor guy. I like HK but I never ever want to see it at a wedding :D Actually I would love to see their wedding pic :D It's kinda hard to imagine. Wish you a wonderful week ahead Jo!
xx
Hey Mira, So happy to see that you are determined to do this tag and YESH, better late than never. NOoooo, how could nobody tag you before? I thought you would have received lots of tags. Maybe you didn't know those were tags when people tagged you. Hehehe...
DeleteI would also love to see the HK wedding... so curious... but I think apparently he's so into his wife that he has drawn away from his friends. It's fortunate that I wasn't close to begin with.
I also only wear eye shadow on special occasions and tend to focus more on mascara instead! Also, your passion for disliking very long hair does make me laugh Jo haha - I suppose it's each to their own and what one person deems 'ugly' may not seem that way to someone else! :) Have a lovely week..
ReplyDeleteGabrielle | A Glass Of Ice
x
Hi Gabrielle. High 5 to mascara ladies! Lol... Yeah even for myself with long hair, I can't stand overly long hair. You one of those with very beautiful waist-length hair! =D
DeleteI'm just of the same opinion, I would rather lose all my palettes and eye shadows. I'm using eye shadows quite often, as you have mentioned, only for special occasions.
ReplyDeleteI also think that those girls with extremely long hair look even scary, I don't understand what is the purpose of growing your har this long. It's nor comfortanble nither beautiful even.
Anyhow, all the questions are quite interesting and I was answering them all silently to myself:) Such a great post turned out, I enjoyed it very much!
Thanx for sharing with me some of your answers here, Alexandra. I'm glad to see so many ladies sharing the same view on overly long hair. I wonder what's the rest of your silent answers to yourself coz I enjoyed reading what you shared here too.
DeleteThis is a fun tag and I've seen it around. I think your answers are probably the closest I've seen to what mine would be Jo. I never understand when people freak out about getting their hair cut - like when it's halfway down their back and they have to get a few inches cut off and they act like they're losing a limb or something. It grows back. I have a few friends who lost their hair due to cancer treatments and honestly I feel more for them. And the pics of the people with super long hair actually kind of freaked me out. I had a friend who had really long hair and she never tied it back and it would just get all over the place especially in her food when she ate and it was kinda gross. And it seems like it would be such a pain to take care of. Okay hair rant over. Have a splendid week Jo!
ReplyDeleteYes there are two Chinese actresses named BingBIng. You will ever only see one of them on my blog as I think the other one looks rather trashy and plastic. They definitely do not look alike in my eyes.
Rowena @ rolala loves
Rowena! I was laughing at your hair rant! I was nodding and nodding throughout. High 5 man.
DeleteAh, I've got so much to say about Bing Bing especially after I read about you saying one looks rather trashy and plastic. I supposed since my latest impression of Fan Bing Bing is from X-men, that sure look trashy and plastic though she was into that character. But I thought I was wrong and so went to google both Li and Fan and I still think they look alike! Lol... I wondered if I was the only one who couldn't tell the difference and one day my colleagues and I each used our phones. One googled image Fan Bing Bing and one googled imaged Li Bing Bing and we put both phones side by side and scrolled. Still, we thought both look alike and couldn't really tell the difference. Hahaha... Oh my, I do think being able to tell them apart is a great skill!
Hello dear, thanks for your visit, I am triyn to read this post too, when I do not understand I translate too, I am following on instagram right now, I think I told you if you wan follow each other on instagram, sorry, my english is not good,
ReplyDeleteReally nice and fun tag.
A big kiss
Duapara
Hi Duapara, You're welcome and thank you for explaining! Hope to see you around more often. =)
DeleteThanks for the tag Jo! I'm sorry it's taken me so long to come here and check it out properly. I can't promise to continue with it though, I'm pretty unreliable like that when it comes to these things. For some reason I always end up forgetting about them. Please don't be offended if I don't! You know I love you! 1. I'm like you, I'm a mascara and eyeliner girl so getting rid of the shadow was a no brainer hahaha. I don't know if you'd consider my hair lovely (my hairdresser says so) but I tell you I would cut it! Especially if it grows back of course hehehe, that's not cheating at all since it wasn't specified. Long hair is not cool. Really. There's a point it reaches that is unbearable, like finding it's way into your meal when your out and about. Yes that does happen. Maybe only to me :o| I am a clothing and Sephora girl all the way too. I can't answer the nail polish ones. I can't imagine a world with bare, naked nails and NO make-up. I just can't. I loved reading this Jo, it was so fun getting to know you even more my friend.

Nah... I already mentioned that there is no obligation to do it and I perfectly understand coz I'm just like you too. It's just as fun to read your answers here too. We have so much in common! You know what? I don't think I've ever seen proper full face shot and back shot of yourself! Your photos are always so artistically angled. You have t take a picture of yourself more and of your hair too coz I wanna see the back of your hair. Hahaha... It must be really lovely for your hairdresser to say so.
DeleteI just liked your FB public page, Sonia. I usually like to show support to the blog friends I like by liking their social media stuff and I can't believe I didn't like your FB page before. Lemme know if you wanna connect on our personal FB page too. I'm recently connecting with a lot of my favourite blog people on FB and I hope you would be one of them too!
This was wonderful doll, I really enjoyed your answers :) Thank you for tagging me as well. xx
ReplyDeleteKizzy. You're welcome! I'm not sure if you would be doing this tag but do let me know if you do.
DeleteThank you. =)
ReplyDeleteHonestly, I don't think you need any make-up at all.
ReplyDeleteYes I do. I look like 2 different persons with and without. =)
DeleteBoth pretty!
DeleteI'm currently in my ~eyeshadow~ phase so I'm rapidly amassing various singles and palettes from different brands and even though I think all shades of brown look the same on my eyes, I STILL WANT MORE *-*
ReplyDeleteI don't actually own any MAC products either (DOES THIS DISQUALIFY ME AS A BEAUTY BLOGGER?) BUT I THINK IT WOULD BE AMAZING IF YOU GUEST POSTED ON SOMEONE'S BLOG (OR MINE) ABOUT YOUR FAVOURITE LONGWEARING EYELINERS AND MASCARAS (since I know a lot of liners have trouble staying in the waterline)
Really long hair creeps me out, and it just seems like a hassle to upkeep. I mean, how frequently does it get washed and how long would it take to dry? *-* Putting all that hair into a messy bun seems impossible, hah.
Hey Vanessa, Sorry I tend to miss out replying to your comments. Ah, you were always into blushes. So many blushes have you. So now it's the eyeshadow phase? It's so funny how you say all shades of brown look the same on your eyes and you still want more. Aren't many of us like this too in different areas in life? Hehe... That's normal. I would be a boring guest poster (poster... hahahaha) coz my eyeliner and mascara is always the same! Eyeliner is a jap brand called Koji and mascara would be Sasa's house brand Cyber colours.
