Instagram Snapshots ~*November 2013*~

What? December is here already? Could the earth just rotate a little slower? I feel the sands of time slipping through my fingers.

My pinky pink laptop died on me 2 days ago. It just wouldn't start anymore. I feel like I'm completely thrown off schedule with its sudden demise as I had wanted to edit some photos on the night it died. I've got lots and lots of photos to be edited and lots and lots of events to blog about and I would soon be doing throwback posts from 2 years ago since the new year is just 1 month away. Thankfully, my grumpy hubz sacrificed playing WoW for tonight to let me use his laptop after much cajoling from me.

For the past 1 hour, I have been wasting lots of energy being pissed at an inanimate object-- his laptop. I could not do many things which I often do on my laptop and I just could not understand why. I could not even upload any photo on blogger! I thought he had set restrictions which posed lots of limitations so I checked every single tick on his settings but I could not find anything amiss.

Just a few minutes ago, it suddenly occurred to me that it could be a browser problem. Hence, I tried installing Google Chrome and voila! All my problems were solved! Google Chrome is indeed the best browser ever. Ask any teenaged kid and they would tell you how much IE sux and how good Chrome is.

So on the 1st of December, here is my compilation of Instagram photos from November.

My sis @kezel bought a pinkie pink helmet from Vietnam for SGD$18. She doesn't ride one of those cute scooters so I don't know why on earth she bought a helmet for. Her bimbotic reason? Coz it's cheap and cute and pink. 😒 -_-|||

~2 November 2013~
Hehehe... Was rummaging the fridge for something refreshing and fruity to drink and decided to steal the hub's white grape taiwan fruit beer.

~3 November 2013~
I often see people raving about Tokyo Banana. Mum-in-law came back from Hokkaido with lots of goodies and Tokyo Banana is one of them. She bought it coz she heard how many people were raving about it. Verdict: The sponge cake is really soft, delicate yet QQ and the banana filling is yummy! Not overly sweet for my not overly sweet tooth. Thumbs up! 👍👍👍

~3 November 2013~
I could never ever finish a Nando's meal by myself so I ordered 1/4 chicken with grilled vegetables (top) while the hubz ordered 1/2 chicken with peri fries to be shared and coleslaw (bottom). This is the first time I still feel hungry after my Nando's meal. 😔 =( I should have ordered the 1/2 chicken and peri fries and let history repeat itself.

~3 November 2013~
Lanvin Éclat was on discount at SASA! I missed the promotion a few months back and now I've got my hands on a bottle. Yes I know this isn't the newest scent from Lanvin but I personally love this scent the best.

~3 November 2013~
DKNY Be Delicious Fresh Blossoms will share the stage with my newly purchased Lanvin Éclat for daily wear. Valentino Valentina Acqua Floreale which I featured a few months back would be the perfect scent for the evening.

~3 November 2013~
Sis @kappo77 said she had a gift for me that was left forgotten on her shelf for the longest time ever. My sis has the knack for always buying things I don't really use. Haha. Don't get me wrong. I appreciate the sweet thoughts though I don't think I would wear that kitty cat watch. But thanx Jie Jie! I will see how to put the watch to good use!

~8 November 2013~
My parents's new late night snack-- cockles lightly cooked in a tub of boiling salted water with Asian chilli sauce and ginger as dip. Feeds 3 and all for only $2.45. Yummy yummy! Hepatitis A beckons.

~9 November 2013~
FIL's birthday dinner at a relatively new Ramen place at Thompson Plaza-- Menya Musashi. The award winning Menya Musashi is a household name in Japan. We were supposed to go to Sushi Teh but the queue was too long (possibly because people were showing their support for it after an NUS gal dissed Sushi Teh as being a much too casual restaurant for birthdays.) Read bracket portion in jest.

~9 November 2013~
1. I'm usually a white soup ramen person but I ordered the Cha Shu Ramen with black garlic soup as I heard raves from some colleagues about their black soup ramen. Black soup ramen is usually too rich and salty for my liking but this is ok for me. In fact, I find it better than all the black soup ones at the Ramen Champion IMHO though I still like my Santouka best.
2. My FIL ordered the Tsukemen which is the dipping style ramen and thinks it is better than all the stalls at Ramen Champion too.
3. Side dishes of gyoza, curry ikura and wakame.
4. Some tofu, cheese, mayo side dish. Yummy!

~9 November 2013~
Froyo love!

~10 November 2013~
Latergram dinner at Bakerzin.
1. Cream of Mushroom -- 正! Yummy!
2. Herb Cream Cheese Salad -- Really love the Yuzu dressing and herb cream cheese.
3. Pesto Linguine -- The hubz ordered this for mains. It was totally tasteless. Is pesto supposed to taste like this?
4. Beef Marsala -- My mains. The sirloin steak was too well done and tough. The mash potatoes underneath it was creamy and delicious. The mushrooms too.

~10 November 2013~
Latergram dinner at Bakerzin.
1. Hub's Tiramisu Cafecinno and my Mocha.
2.Brandy Apple Tart -- Crumbly and not overly sweet.
3. Chocolate Amer -- One of my favourite flourless sponge cakes from Bakerzin.

~11 November 2013~
Yes? No?

~12 November 2013~
Hubz bought the last portion of Lotus Root Soup from a coffee shop and I love how it tastes so much like my parents' soup. It has the essence of home cooking. The presentation isn't appealing at all but most home-cooked Chinese food that doesn't look good taste the best. The lotus root has been simmered to the point of disintegration and the texture powdery. 已经煮烂了. I usually like my lotus root crunchy so that I could eat them. I didn't eat much of this powdery lotus root but I lapped up all the soup and was delighted with the peanuts, the pork ribs, the dried cuttlefish and bits of dried scallops. Dried cuttlefish and scallops are rarely seen in lotus root soup bought outside and they were just the ingredients my parents would use. I don't usually eat the meat found in soup as I believe all their flavour has gone to the soup but for this, I savoured every single chunk. That's just how delicious the soup is. Maybe I should try their soup in the day time when it isn't their last gem. As we all know, the best soup is always found at the bottom of the pot or on Day 2.

~14 November 2013~
Free cake pops! Look good. Taste good.

~14 November 2013~
This little cake pop actually saved me from hunger.

~15 November 2013~
PS21 ExCEL Convention 2013
There were many goodies given out by the various exhibition booths and I love the reusable tote the best! Love the colourful tomorrow theme and the monsters.

~16 November 2013~
Day time booze at Brussels Sprouts.

~16 November 2013~
Happy hours his and hers. Stella Artois and Lindermans peach. Stella won't go wrong. Lindermans peach is so much nicer than Lindermans cherry. The former tastes like soda. The latter tastes like tasty panadol for kids.

~16 November 2013~
Latergram-- Brussels Sprouts Belgian Beer & Mussels

Mussels in Fromage Bleu cream sauce serving style (blue cheese, bamboo shoot, mushroom, cheese)
We ordered the main size (750g/40 mussels) but featured here isn't the whole pot. Even though it is blue cheese sauce, this is not something to pinch your nose to. It is surprisingly light and you could just drink the cream sauce without feeling jelak (satiated due to rich food). One of everybody's favourite! I'm saying this from what I hear from my friends who have been to Brussels Sprouts.

~16 November 2013~
Latergram-- Brussels Sprouts Belgian Beer & Mussels

Mussels in Brussels Sprouts Special clear sauce serving style (onion, parsley, butter, celery, black pepper)

We ordered the main size (750g/40 mussels). I'm a clear soup person when it comes to drenching my shell food (esp with wine) but hubby and the wait staff recommended the special sauce which has no wine but celery in it! I absolutely hate celery though I'm pleasantly surprised by this soup. The hint of celery is fine for someone who hates celery. The soup starts off a little bland but the flavour slowly builds up. In the end, I liked this more than the blue cheese serving style.

~16 November 2013~
Latergram-- Brussels Sprouts Belgian Beer & Mussels

The clear mussel soup was so delicious! Hubby thought I was uncouth to drink soup from the serving ladle. I retorted, "What you want me to do? Sip daintily with the spoon?"

~16 November 2013~
Latergram-- Brussels Sprouts Belgian Beer & Mussels

Rollmops. Marinated herring on a bed of green apple salad, garnished with roasted beetroot.
Delicious though you can't eat this on an empty stomach as it is pretty acidic.

~16 November 2013~
Latergram-- Brussels Sprouts Belgian Beer & Mussels

Portobello Grilles. Grilled portobello mushrooms with herb butter.
Grilled to perfection. Me likey!

~16 November 2013~
Latergram-- Brussels Sprouts Belgian Beer & Mussels

All mussels are served with free flow of fries. Just the kind of place for gluttons.

~16 November 2013~
Scooping up a mussel expecting to find the flesh but all I got was a whole shell of celery-- one of my most hated vegetable.

~16 November 2013~
To end off the latergram Brussels Sprouts series of foodpics, here is a little psychological personality test question for all of you. What does this piece of mussel remind you of? (Inspired by the hubz to post this)

~17 November 2013~
Throwback. Was half packing my table and found this to add to the kindness-gratitude jar for the year.

~21 November 2013~
Brightly coloured pills make being sick less dreary.

~23 November 2013~
Bestie Cyn said she had cough for 3 months, took this herbal medicine and it went away just like that. I hope this works on my hacking cough!!!

~23 November 2013~
You know one of those sickly days when you decide to finally stop mopping about feeling so miserable? And then you drag yourself up with drowsiness and a heavy head, take a refreshing shower, make up, go out to enjoy the fresh air and feel like a completely new person (with enough room for bimbotic selfie shot)? Today is not the day. =( We set out to use all our soon-to-expire vouchers and tickets for a full day "excursion" today but spoiler me had to cut short the outing.

~23 November 2013~
Latergram. It's 11pm here. Good morning world! Feeling so much better after a 3h sleep.
On a side note, I was playing around with a camera app that has nice filters but an excessively edited feel for selfie shots like this. Now I know why some people's photos always look overly blurred and edited.
Jo: See! The filter colours very nice hor?
Kh: Where got nice? Look so 朦朦 like those kinda overly edited selfie shots you hate.

~24 November 2013~
We gathered for lunch for lil bro-in-law @jovennnnn birthday lunch. For desserts, hubz ordered Doraemon ice cream dessert and was surprised that they beheaded 小叮当.

~24 November 2013~
If only I had a bay window...

~28 November 2013~
Throwback Thursday - The Wanderlust beckons... for soaking in the sights and sounds of a new place... for being lost in unplanned randomness... for traveling in style.

~28 November 2013~
This is a picture I stumbled upon many years ago and up till now it still tickles me. Pardon my sick humour and Happy Thanksgiving to my American friends and all who celebrate Thanksgiving.

~29 November 2013~
I've not seen this stray kitty before. She isn't the usual neighbourhood cat which I would stop to play with. She eyed me with her big eyes from afar and I didn't even attempt to engage her as my hands were full. Once I walked past her, she meowed so loudly, pranced towards me and started going round and round my legs. I suspect she was interested in the black soya bean milk I was drinking.

~30 November 2013~
My god son Jase and my new god daughter Mia. And Charmaine is with us in spirit too! I love all of you!

~30 November 2013~
Jase Kor Kor loves his Mei Mei so much. He kept telling us how she would smile and how she would react when he carried her. She cried a lot but she was happily sleeping in his arms just now, occasionally opening her beautiful GREY eyes. Paddy said grey doesn't sound nice and insisted they are SLATE colour.

~30 November 2013~
Hope to see you awake with your pretty eyes open the next time.

~30 November 2013~
These are some sharks under our feet. While every Singaporean I know has been to the S.E.A Aquarium, today was our first time there. I had to use the discounted tickets as they expire on the last day of November which means TODAY. Great that the aquarium opens till 9pm on the last Saturday of the month. Not too great that the lighting is simulated to fit the actual time. By 8pm, many tanks were dimmed and we could only watch the playful dolphins in the dark.

~30 November 2013~
At the touch pool.
Top L-R:
A kind of sea star (feels hard)
Shark eggs (feels like soft shell)

Bottom L-R:
Baby shark (feels soft and smooth when stroked from the head to the tail, a little course when stroked from the opposite direction)
Sea cucumber (Soft and spongy)

~30 November 2013~
Singapore just has to build something to be in the Guiness World Record. I don't know if this largest aquarium is more prominent in the international news or the news that many animal activists were angry over a dolphin death while being transported to Singapore.

~30 November 2013~
Wandering seahorse. Before this video, the very same seahorse was wandering aimlessly before latching itself onto the head of another seahorse. It really pissed the hell outta the other seahorse.

~30 November 2013~
Jellyfish "changing colour".

~30 November 2013~
Another type of jellyfish without the flashy lights.

There you go. My November a la instasummary. You can find me on Instagram by clicking the button below. If you like my pictures, do follow and drop me a message so that I could check out your page too! I really love it when my blog friends and I are connected on other social media platforms too since I know many of them don't blog as often yet have got a lot more updates on their Instagram page. I don't entertain follow for follow requests but if we have enough meaningful exchanges here, I would naturally follow you back, especially if you are my blog friend. Have a happy weekend!

I've overstayed my supposed timeslot for my hubz laptop usage and I just replied to all your comments on the past few posts. I will try to visit your blogs the next time I cajole him to let me use his laptop. I hope to buy a new laptop asap and also extract the hard drive from my dead pinky pink. I sure hope the contents are intact as I've not backed up my laptop for as long as I could not find the external hard disk. GASP and CRIES if my hard disk has crashed in the process.

    1. I sometimes drool at my own food pictures and have cravings for those food too.
The troublesome thing about perfume is that they smell differently in different places and on different people. I'm having some problem with my Lanvin Eclat coz it smells heavenly as long as it doesn't get on cloth. The fragrance on cloth seems to alter.

    2. YEAH!
the dkny smells fine on my clothes but not on me, lol :(

but at least it smells good on something, haha :)

  6. Wishing you a healthy hard drive, dear. So sorry about the crashy crash. Wonderful pics! You are such a great follow on IG, half for the photos and half for the clever subtitles. That cat watch is adorable, you look SO amazing in that bay window shot, the hearts and stars make great additions to the pics, drinking from the ladle is very historically regal and....most of all....HELMET!!!
