September Skyping with Sweeties

Loving kor kor and mei mei

On the above picture:
- Usually we don't use the headphones but the static sound was quite bad that day and so cyn mummy, Charmaine and Jase had to take turns to put on the headphones.
- Jase is really good at racing and he was showing off that he had won the race... yet again.
- Whenever it was time to go to the hospital, Charmaine would excitedly run away to pick her outfit for the day and after changing would parade in front of the webcam to ask if the outfit she chose was nice.

On the above picture:
- The kids enjoy making funny faces, especially so when Uncle/ Godpa kh squeezed into the picture. Why did they scold Uncle/ Godpa notti? Coz I told them that my comp was going to spoil soon and Charmaine hollered, "Ask Uncle Kehang buy for you new computer." When he said no, she started scolding him notti. Haha...
- When cyn and I wanna have a real talk, the kids would always budge in to disturb.
- Jase enjoys making sad faces for fun.

On the above picture:
- Charmaine would always spend more time skyping while Jase kor kor would run away and probably play his racing game.
- She had a pretty hairband on that day and she was very eager to show it.
- She started eating porridge in front of me and I asked jokingly, "Godma hungry. Can give me some porridge?" She said, "Wait huh, I bring the porridge for you to eat ok?" After that, she carefully carried the half full bowl in front of the camera.

Charmaine looks so cute and innocent here

Ok I'm so gonna do a GREAT rewind post real soon. It'll be the longest rewind ever with 9 months worth of photo updates. I've been editing and putting the photos in collages every month. Just lazy to come up with the words. But then again, a picture paints a thousand words so I could probably do away with the words.

My laptop seems like it's gonna commit hara-kiri any time. I can really cry if I lose all my editied stuff and photos now. Choy choy.

Efficiency

... or the lack of is what I'm experiencing lately.

Fancy spending 3--4 hours just to reply to emails. That's not even inclusive of doing the periodic printscreens.

Kudos to the efficient one. Efficient one I know you're reading. ;P

Thinking of doing this and thinking of doing that just makes everything incomplete.

Doing a bit of this and doing a bit of that just makes everything incomplete.

Hence, I've completed nothing.

But I know once I'm done, I would finish many things all at once.

Someone once said,

"Efficiency is intelligent laziness"

I think my inefficiency is pure laziness.

Charmaine is so cheeky!

Quotes from lil char:

"Godma Jolene, why I call you you never answer the phone?"

"I tell you a secret ah. Next time I call you, you must answer ok? If not I pour shee shee all over you." *cheeky sniggers*

"Mmm... What time ah? I want to call at ten o'clock. No no... one o'clock."

"No cannot. I want one o'clock. Because I want to disturb you."

"I want to wake you up." *cheeky laughter*

"I will call you at 1 o'clock every day to wake you up."

"I play racing."

"I play with kor kor always lose but I play myself always win."

"I 4 years old now. 5 years old that time I will play and win kor kor."

Yes, you will win gal. You'll always win! :D

Flea Fly Flo Flum

I've got this wild idea of selling some of my clothes and apparels online. Proceeds would go to Charmaine's cancer funds. Most of these consist of clothes only worn once or twice or else then unworn impulse buys.

Actually, I've been keeping these either with the intention of wearing them again or for lelong events where my friends and I would exchange clothes with one another. They are too good to be sold to the garang guni uncle and thus habouring this idea of clearing them while raising funds.

However, I'm not too certain how the response would be like. If there are some positive response, I would start digging out my clothes, snapping photos and taking measurements.

Every scratch gives character to the ring

I'm the most upset person now.

While I was showering, I dropped my wedding band. The first thing I did was to check that all the diamonds were still intact. Then just now, I was touching my ring and I felt three deep scratches on the edges. Shocked, I smoothed my finger around the edge and felt another deeper one.

I'm upset to the point that I blamed kh for insisting on stony floor tiles for the bathroom. I'm quite sure if we had normal bathroom tiles, the scratches would not have been so deep.

"It's your fault for dropping, not the floor's fault."

"I never say it's the floor. I say it's you."

I remember someone once said,

"Every scratch gives character to the ring." or something along that line.

I don't want my ring to have character!

To look on the bright side, I can relate this to my Science students who were shocked when I once told them gold is considered a soft metal.

Sigh man... I had initially wanted to blog about happy stuff. All kh's fault!

A strange encounter

After knocking off, I bade my colleagues goodbye without waiting for them to do closing. I was hungry and wanted to go back to my family's home as soon as possible.

Two flights down the stairs, I heard someone calling faintly.

"Jolene... Jolene... Jolene..."

Well, it also sounded like other possible names ending with the "lyn" or "ene" sound. I couldn't quite catch if the person was calling "Jolene" as it sounded rather far away. I do not even know which direction it was coming from. It sounded like it was from upstairs yet it also sounded like it came from the pavement below.

I decided to ignore the person and continue walking down, not because I was cautious of those things but because I seriously thought it was some other person calling another person.

The person just kept calling out. Then, the voice got a little louder and this time it sounded like a colleague of mine.

Thinking that my colleague was calling out to me coz I had left something behind, I walked upwards again as I peered up the railings and answered, "Huh? What?"

I didn't see anyone up there.

Something told me that I should just continue down the stairs without stopping and so I followed my instinct.

For the next few seconds, the only sounds I heard were my heels clicking.

No longer did I hear anyone calling out.

When I reached the ground floor, I thought I heard the person calling again.

Since I was in the safety of the crowd outside Mac Donald's, I turned back every now and then to see if my colleague was behind, possibly chasing after me to return something which I've forgotten.

All I saw was crowd of teenagers.

Whipping out my handphone, I dialled said colleague's number and asked if she had been calling out to me.

Her answer gave me goosebumps.

She double checked with the rest of the people remaining and confirmed that nobody had called out to me then.

She advised me not to think too much and to walk home as quickly as possible.

And that was exactly what I did.
