I had no idea about the Instagram Direct features. I like with gmail that I set my account to give me 30 seconds to delete an email before someone receives it- but it seems odd that a site allows senders to delete their messages whenever they want. Guess screenshots are definitely needed! Thanks for sharing.
~JessDMShttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04202502753961748992noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7392001.post-2231364240070089172016-10-14T02:34:29.894+08:002016-10-14T02:34:29.894+08:00You might want to start a list of the sketchy acco...You might want to start a list of the sketchy accounts that contact you, so you can visit them later to make sure they didn't steal any of your pictures. I get directs on my main account sometimes but, since it is private, they are always harmless. On my wilder account, where I used to share the pictures of me in tights, I get quite a few directs and just ignore the majority of them. Many people send pictures but they are so tiny on the message window I would never know if its something disturbing unless I chose to open it so no harm there. I did an experiment not long ago where I created a female account, complete with pictures I borrowed from someone I knew did not do IG. It was amazing how many directs I got, and yes, most of them were hello with a picture of their wrangle dangle. I often thought of myself as too forward or too open but that experience taught me I am actually pretty low on that scale when applied to the internet. So directs now really do not bother me, but yes it is important to take screen shots of anything someone shares that gives you concern and send it to IG. The block feature is a real gift, I sometimes go thru others comments, especially celebrities, and just block block block everyone I find annoying. That way they never find there way anywhere near me. great info!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17540562962989971985noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7392001.post-53300716825393704572016-10-11T06:23:01.334+08:002016-10-11T06:23:01.334+08:00OMG Jo this is terrible. How many articles have I come across from artists who've had their work stolen. I remember there was a guy (with QUITE THE NERVE) who STOLE peoples images and used them for his Instagram themed exhibition. And legally he was allowed to because when you submit a photo to Instagram you lose al rights (something along those lines anyway). It's deplorable. All of it. I took a break from it months ago and now struggle to get back into the swing of things. All these changes are annoying. In a way I like the new "catch up" feature where they show you relevant people first as opposed to whoever posts later on. It's good to catch up on my friends but then I wonder with myself being so constantly absent if I even make anyone's feed these days! The story feature is cool, BUT it's the exact same as snapchat which was something I have been using more of. And now find myself having to compete with the two. It's damn annoying. I also had no idea about messages so maybe I should go check mine out. I guess if I get weird and random messages I'll be sure to screen-shoot them. I hope everything works out for you, though is there much you can do? Can you request them to remove at all?

Sxx
www.daringcoco.comsonia // daring cocohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01917824316715854859noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7392001.post-24473203819993598092016-10-10T02:44:02.778+08:002016-10-10T02:44:02.778+08:00my instagram account was blocked (long story shor...my instagram account was blocked (long story short, I lost my phone card and couldn't confirm the number) and even though I miss it, maybe it was for the best. I have some issues with instagram, mostly due with privacy. Your post is great btw! You did a good job warning people because I think people don't even think about any of this privacy issues.

To tell you the truth, I didn't check my messages in direct often, because I preferred to log in and out and not to keep it on my phone all the time...I ignored many request for direct messages because I just didin't want to deal with possible problems. I'm not saying that instagram is bad, but it should protect its users more.Ivana Splithttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04908566377732204399noreply@blogger.com
